AUD Events

Dear All 

The psychology department of 'School of Undergraduate Studies (SUS)-Karampura, organized a two day "community awareness program" as a follow-up of the 'World Mental Health Day' that commenced on 10th October, 2019. 

The theme for this year, as given by World Health Organization (WHO), was "sucide prevention". 

The event was presided over by Prof. Sitanshu Shekar Jena (OSD-KP Campus). 

Inauguration was done by the Chief Guest for the day MLA of Motinagar constituency, Shri. Shiv charan Goyal & Proctor of AUD, Prof. Satyaketu Sankrit. 

SHO of Motinagar Police station Shri. Sandeep Arya too interacted with the students and encouraged their 'community awareness' efforts. 

This event was titled "Mental Health Warrior" and involved;

Day one (campus activity):- 

1. An open mic for general discussion on the theme "mental health and self-harm"
2. Wall painting facilitating expressions of one's concept of body image
3. Learning through entertainment programs; aimed at breaking stigma on open discussion on taboo topics in mental health

Day two (community activity):- 

1. Mental health road rally on 'sucide prevention'. 
2. Street plays by our students on the theme 'prevention of self-harm in the community'. 
3. Interaction with kids from the community to promote creative expression. 
4. Awareness class followed by Q & A sessions for parents on 'effective parenting' & 'academic development of children.
