Heidegger and Practical Philosophy:  Phronesis (or phronetic "truth") as offering a fundamental methodological departure

In the current and next semester, CRM is proposing a series of lectures with the overarching theme of “Methodological contributions of thinkers / writers / practitioners from the fields of social sciences, humanities, creative art, fields of practice and sciences". The general idea is to take a thinker for each lecture of about 90 to 120 minutes followed by a discussion.

It is not possible to give a boundary to what qualifies as "Methodological contributions". While a great deal of contributions, in the form of methods, methodologies and epistemologies are direct and explicit there are equally significant and extensive contributions in the form of social/philosophical concepts, or characterisation, story-telling, designing etc., in creative disciplines, where methodological lessons are derived and implied. We hope to include all these variant ideas in our lecture series on methodological contributions.

We are starting this series with the:

“Heidegger and Practical Philosophy: Phronesis (or phronetic "truth") as offering a fundamental methodological departure”, by Anup Dhar, Professor of Philosophy,
