Panelists: Dr. Radhika Menon; Prof. Ajay Dandekar; Dr. Soumyabrata Choudhury
About the Panelist:
1. Dr. Radhika Menon - Dr. Radhika Menon does her research in the area of sociology of education. She has researched and published on urban education and on issues of gender-caste and class. She takes special interest in the area of identity, work and labour; and reviews on educational transformations in the contemporary world.
She also writes on a variety of public interest issues as interventions in popular discourses.
Radhika has been involved in evolving curriculum, texts and developing classroom practices for constructivist pedagogy in social sciences. She teaches in Mata Sundri College, University of Delhi and has taught liberal courses in education, teacher education programme and supervised research students.
2. Prof. Ajay Dandekar - Dr. Ajay Dandekar is the Director of School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SoHSS) and the Center for Public Affairs and Critical Theory (C-PACT) at the Shiv Nadar University. Prior to joining Shiv Nadar University, Dr. Dandekar has taught at the Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, Institute of Rural Management (IRMA), Anand, Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar and Tata Institute of Social Sciences,Tuljapur.
Dr. Dandekar has a Ph.D. from the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He has worked on issues of Denotified and Nomadic Communities and Pastoral Nomadic groups; agrarian crises and farmers suicides. He traverses the world of historical research and policy analysis; his publications include edited and co-authored books, book chapters, articles and policy papers on a range of issues pertaining to cults, policy, and analyses on issues of tribal governance, agriculture, planning, rural development, and economy.
Dr. Dandekar is a recipient of many honors and awards including the International Visitor Leadership Programme and Professor K.T.M. Hegde Fellowship; he also has the distinction of serving on many Government of India committees including the Planning Commission.
3. Dr. Soumyabrata Choudhury - Dr. Soumyabrata Choudhury currently teaches at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU. He has previously taught at CSSSC. Kolkata, and has been a fellow at CSDS, Delhi and IIAS, Shimla. His new book Ambedkar and Other Immortals: An Untouchable Research Programme came out in this year.

Soumyabrata Choudhury currently teaches at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU. He has previously taught at CSSSC. Kolkata, and has been a fellow at CSDS, Delhi and IIAS, Shimla. His book Theatre, Number, Event: Three Studies on the Relationship of Sovereignty, Power and Truth was published by IIAS, Shimla in 2013. His new book Ambedkar and Other Immortals: An Untouchable Research Programme came out in this year.
