We would like to invite you to a speaker session on "Innovation Systems and Developing Countries" by Sabyasachi Saha PhD(JNU), Assistant Professor, Research & Information System for Developing Countries (RIS).

The lecture would contribute to the understanding of: Innovation and development; innovation systems and policy; and measurement of technological capability, particularly through trade statistics in developing countries..

Technology trajectories in developing countries and opportunities

About the speaker: Dr. Sabyasachi Saha is Assistant Professor at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi. He is an expert on innovation systems; industrial policy; trade in technology; and IPRs. He has also been working on issues of trade multilateralism and international development. He has presented his research in numerous international academic conferences and is a regular participant at policy forums (on UN-SDGs, G20, BRICS) globally. He has worked closely with various departments of the Government of India (and international agencies) at the apex level on projects and policy advice. He obtained his Ph.D., M.Phil. and M.A. in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi at the Centre for International Trade and Development (CITD). As a Ph.D. scholar he received the WIPO Prize, a DAAD funded junior fellowship for research in Germany, and Government of India Travel Award. Recently, he contributed as a Member of T20 Japan Task Force on Trade, Investment, and Globalisation.
He has co-edited the volume on “Manufacturing and Jobs in South Asia - Strategy for
Sustainable Economic Growth” published by Springer in August 2019.
