On Differential Equations in Complex Plane

Abstract: We are familiar with the differential equations in R, but very less known about the differential equations in the complex plane. The first attempt in this direction was made by Robertson [M. S. Robertson, Schlicht solution of W'' + pW = 0, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 76(1954), 254-274], in which he discussed the geometrical behaviour of a differential equation in open unit disk D = {z ∈ C : |z| < 1}. The main outcome of his work is If zp(z) be regular in D with |zp(z)| < 1, then the unique solution of

v''(z) + p(z)v(z) = 0 v(0) = 0, v'(0) = 1,

is a starlike conformal map of the unit disk.
Further, many researchers have considered first and second order linear differential equations in the complex plane. In the present lecture, we discuss about the differential equations in complex plane and their applications.
