School of Law, Governance and Citizenship Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi invites you to a session on The Poll: The Great Indian Election Game by Abeer Kapoo (Journalist, game designer and author) On 4th September, 2019 (Wednesday), 2 pm Venue: G3, Karampura Campus

About the session:

The Poll (https://thepoll.co/) is one of the first board games to focus on Indian elections. It highlights the core values of a liberal democracy through its design, gameplay and the process that was followed to make it. The session is going to focus on the use of games as a method to discuss politics and elections. The speaker would focus on the conceptual aspects of elections in a liberal democracy and would make sense of the concepts through the game. This would be followed by a demo session on how the game is played. The game is a political simulation that makes regular people in-charge of the affairs of a political party: they must draft its manifesto and defend it, manage its resources while picking the best campaign strategies to maximize their vote share. The game has received extensive media coverage both nationally and internationally including the BBC World and CNN International.
